About The Microscoop
I'm Andrea, a 19-year-old college student (what!? yeah, still makes me scratch my head sometimes) who loves science and questions and the feeling of emerging out of a cloud of confusion when something finally clicks in my chem homework. I also love talking about all these things (read: bombarding friends and family members with all the latest and strangest questions about science and people and the world and bugs and sloths and other creatures and weird stuff that goes on in the world). Thus, I decided to reserve a much-needed space where I could blab about science to my heart's content: a blog!
On this blog, I will bring to you random things* that I find interesting (and hopefully at least somewhat important, but I can't make promises). However, I can guarantee that I will do my best to make my blog as non boring as possible, because let's face it, boring blogs are icky. The description of my blog is so vague due to the fact that it would be impossible for me to decide on a specific genre, if you will, of blogging style (for example, one day I might want to write about sloths, my favorite animal, and the next day write about sweet potatoes, my favorite food. Not only do sloths not consume sweet potatoes, but the two don't quite share a major genre of writing topic--but a sweet-potato-consuming sloth, or a sloth-consuming-sweet-potato, would make for some good short story material.)
Anywho, to make a long story short, the overall message of my blog--besides that science, questions and pondering are cool--is to prove that anyone can "do science." You don't have to be a genius to understand it; you simply need a few tools: curiosity, an open mind, and passion.
Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoy.
P.S. I welcome e-mails! If you have any comments/questions/concerns, feel free to hit me up at email@example.com
